In Loving Memory of Dr. Arthur Syahuka Muhindo
02 March 1957 – 25 May 2025
As the Centre for Basic Research (CBR), we celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Arthur Syahuka Muhindo—our colleague, mentor, and one of the eight pioneering researchers who helped shape CBR into the formidable research institution it is today.
In his quiet yet deeply philosophical way, Dr. Syahuka supported intellectual thought and basic research in Uganda with integrity and unwavering commitment. His contributions continue to inspire generations of scholars and activists across the country.
As our Founding Executive Director, Prof. Mahmood Mamdani, reminds us, “May his memory strengthen our resolve.”
We join his family, friends, the Makerere University community, and all who knew him in mourning his passing and honoring his profound impact.
Far far away, behind the word mountains, far from the countries Vokalia and Consonantia, there live the blind texts. Separated they live in Bookmarksgrove right at the coast of the Semantics, a large language ocean. A small river named Duden flows by their place and supplies it with the necessary regelialia. It is a paradisematic country, in which roasted parts of sentences fly into your mouth.
