Launch of the Women Uganda 2025+ Campaign

To Celebrate International Women’s Day, the Centre for Basic Research (CBR) is proud to have participated in #WomenUganda2025, an event hosted by the Netherlands Embassy in Uganda. The event was held at the home of H.E. Ms. Frederieke Quispel, Ambassador of the Netherlands Embassy in Uganda. This gathering brought together key stakeholders, thought leaders, and advocates committed to advancing women’s leadership and empowerment.

At the event, Mr. Richard Ssewakiryanga, Executive Director CBR and a distinguished policy expert and researcher, delivered a compelling keynote address. His insights contributed to critical discussions on the role of women in leadership, strategies for gender inclusion, and the importance of policy-driven approaches to women’s empowerment in Uganda and beyond. The keynote address can be downloaded below.

CBR remains dedicated to fostering research-driven dialogue and initiatives that support gender equality and women’s empowerment. Engaging in platforms like #WomenUganda2025 aligns with our broader mission of generating knowledge that informs policy and practice for sustainable development.

We extend our gratitude to the Netherlands Embassy in Uganda for hosting such a significant event and to all participants who continue to champion gender equality.
